Reunions - Introduction

This section has been created to allow a place for recording memories of various Qualtrough Family Reunions held from time to time around the world.

Reunions are held on various scales - from large to not so large - but they are all gatherings of Our Family. It is important that these occasions be commemorated and it is hoped that by providing this space, family descendants will be encouraged to supply photographs, with descriptive details, along with a review of the event, to place on the website.

If you have attended a reunion, even many years ago, which would constitute a gathering of Qualtrough descendants, then please send in contributions so the occasion/s will be preserved for posterity.

USA Reunion - New York - July 2004

Descendants of Sir Joseph Davidson & Lady Ethel Mary Qualtrough late of Castletown, Isle of Man, gathered in upstate New York, USA on the weekend of 23-25 July 2004.

A memorable time was had by all and a momento, produced for the occasion, was the red T-shirt with the Manx 3 legs which all present are wearing in the picture below.

Ted Perrotte, a grandson of Sir Joseph & Lady Qualtrough, writes:

Emily and Henry 1945

"The photo was taken at a picnic, in Tivoli, New York.

Almost all of the attendees are the children and grandchildren of Ian Qualtrough, Eileen Ostime (nee Qualtrough) and Cicely Perrotte (nee Qualtrough). (the children of Sir Joseph & Lady Qualtrough)

We had a large contingent from Canada, most from the Toronto area and one from as far away as Regina, Saskatchewan. The US crowd was from upstate New York and the St. Louis, Missouri area.

Felicity Mangham (nee Qualtrough--Ian's daughter) was our Isle of Man representative! She is currently living in the United States, with her husband and children. Her husband Mark serves in the British Air Force.

There were close to 50 attendees for festivities that spanned three days. We enjoyed several meals together, spent a day at the park, swimming and playing volleyball and kickball, and a day spent mountain climbing in the Catskills."
